• TAMARA PAIGE

    Tamara Paige has been a music educator and conductor in the San Diego area for over 23 years teaching and directing a wide range of ensembles of all levels and ages. She currently leads the orchestra program at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. Tamara’s own passion and energy for teaching has led to many highlights of her career including receiving the Profiles in Education “Educator of the Year” award from the San Diego Youth Symphony Conservatory (2019). Tamara has led pit ensembles for an array of SDSCPA and California Youth Conservatory Theater productions. Her work with the SD Repertory included the award winning productions of Hairspray: The Musical (2010),The Who’s Tommy (2011), and 33 1⁄3: House of Dreams (2019) Tamara’s professional conducting experience includes collaborations with with renown jazz trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos (Jazz at the Jacobs series) and the legendary saxophonist Charles McPherson (Jazz. 88 Presents: Charles McPherson Plays Bird with Strings). Most recently, Tamara has worked as musical director and conductor for Moonlight Theater’s professional production of Cinderella (2022) and Moonlight Youth Production of Mary Poppins (2022). She also performs as a bassist in the band “Nishi La Tremenda y sus Aliados” led by mezzo-soprano Anishka Lee-Skorepa.
