ARLIE LANGAGER
Originally from Canada, Arlie Langager joined the faculty at MiraCosta College in 2008 where she conducts the choirs and teaches voice. Before moving to Southern California, Arlie completed her doctoral studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Previous positions include artistic director of the Calgary Boys Choir, director of the Youth Singers of Calgary, conductor of the Mount Royal Youth Choir at Mount Royal University, and faculty member at Rocky Mountain College, the Conservatory of Music at Mount Royal University, and University of Calgary. Under her direction, her groups earned a reputation for prized choral singing in music festivals and on international tours. Active as an adjudicator, clinician, and arts advocate, Arlie has worked with high school and community ensembles across North America. She currently serves as President-Elect for the California Choral Directors Association, having previously served as Far South Regional Representative and Repertoire and Resources Chair for Two-Year Colleges. Arlie is also First Vice President of Auditions for the Musical Merit Foundation of Greater San Diego.
